BE MINE
love one another
"21k" 640x480 | "30k" 800x600
Bear with me, I'm in a rambling mood. This will wander a bit.
Sometimes the creative process is nothing more than plugging in extension cords to some of the most creative minds I know. Like this wallpaper. I went next door and said, "Fred, I've gotta make a valentine's wallpaper. What comes to mind?"
Fred doesn't even bat an eye. He says, "Large red heart, big gold letters 'BE MINE' and smaller gold letters under it, 'love one another.'"
A valentine from Jesus. Boy you talk about famous! That Jesus is one famous guy. Think about it. Five small words, two short sentences, and no matter what your faith or lack thereof..... you know who this valentine is from. How serious was he? Well look at his Dad. He set it up so the whole human race would perish if we didn't have sense enough to enjoy reaching out to one another. God, what a sweetheart!
Okay, okay, I know he really meant (I know?) I think I know he really meant respect and enjoy each and every human being for their unique expressions, lessons and gifts...... isn't that pretty much it? Well whether that's what he meant or not, today before I hush, I want to explore the romantic ramifications.
Tony Robbins said something in his interview with Larry King that I never knew before. He said that the two greatest fears we all, every one of us, share.... is that
"No on will ever love me and if they do,
I won't be able to keep them loving me."
He said we blame that fear on stuff that happened to us in our childhood and other traumas, but in reality, those two fears are common to us all. That surprised me. I always thought it was just me.I wonder if you did too?
Of course when I think of a negative emotion, like fear, I always think in terms of utilizing it. Fear tells us to get educated and get skilled and take action. God loves you and wants you happy. Don't let your fear stall you another day. You get educated, get John Gray's "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" and you practice chapter 8 until you always automatically speak the language of the other. Don't just read it, don't just get educated.... practice it until you know you are highly skilled. Then take action, get involved in things you love to do, volunteer work, sports, square dance clubs, ski groups, pet shows..... anything but bars or singles clubs. And you go get yourself some love. Then, really love one another.
Oh and as for your fear of them not staying in love with you.... look at it this way.... either way you get a wonderful gift. Either you get love and you get to keep it or you get love and you get to learn how to roll with the punches and make better choices next time.
Before I go I want to remind you of the difference in the ingredients of most miserable and happy marriages.
- Miserable marriages are generally made up of two people who love each other but don't share most of their basic rules, values and beliefs.
- Happy marriages are generally made up of two people who love each other and do share their rules, values and beliefs, or didn't and through loving compromise, came to.
- Some miserable marriages are made up of two people who love each other and do share their rules, values and beliefs but she keeps talking in a woman's language and listening for the same; and he keeps talking in a man's language and listening for the same. Mis communication can be deadly.
Use your head..... choose a happy marriage or just keep fishing.
I never saw a valentine from Jesus before. I certainly never expected to make one. Thank God for neighbors like Fred and Deanna. ![]()
