ENJOY GIVING
Happy givers make the best:
parents, siblings, children, teachers,
students, friends, employees,
employers, dates and life mates.
Find them everywhere.
There may be one in your mirror now.

Word to the wise. Givers are not giving so they can be labeled "good people." Givers give because giving is one of the greatest pleasures there is on the planet. I'm convinced the reason cocaine is so addictive is because it makes you feel almost as good for fifteen minutes as giving makes you feel for a week. Course that's just my opinion.
I wanted to give all of you more gifts, some special gifts for the holidays. So in that spirit here is a short list of my favorite "sleepers," great movies that weren't marketed nearly as well as some of the crummier ones. This holiday season when all the most popular movies are rented off of the shelves and you're wondering what if anything is left for you to really enjoy.... you might find joy in one or some of these:
- Pass the Ammo starring Tim Curry and Annie Potts. It's a comedy based in Arkansas and it's full of good/bad guys and bad/good guys and almost all of them are lovable. This one has become my favorite movie of all time. It reminds me to love us all, good and bad.
- The Gods Must be Crazy starring some very sweet bushmen. The first thirty minutes seems no more than a mildly amusing nature film, then it turns hilarious. It also shows us what unselfishness looks like, just in case it's been a while since you've seen it.
- Little Big Man starring Dustin Hoffman and Chief Dan George. Yeah, I know, you've probably all seen this one a while back. But it's just as good the second time around. Take a break and learn how sweet human beings are.
- Milo and Otis starring a small pug dog and a kitten. It's impossible to watch this one without the house being filled with ouuues, aaaaahs and peals of laughter.
Merry Christmas. Hope you enjoy these as much as I have. And one more thing, my friend Bill inspired this week's. My monitor was going bad. It had gotten so dark I couldn't even see to make. There was no way I could afford to buy one so Bill bought me a new one. It's big, bright and beautiful. He's gonna have to go some to enjoy giving it to me even more than I enjoyed receiving it. What a blessing he is!
