Friends were talking about how we should all eliminate dirty words from our language. I think differently than most I guess. Our brains hear every word that falls from our lips. They tend to believe them. Words are like mirror magnets. We tend to get what our words prove we're focused on.
I grew up in a house where cussing was the spice in language and ours was not a bland household by any measure. My one gift was that I started talking when I was 9 months old. It was the only time in my life when I was the favorite. They would get me up to have breakfast with them and have me say cuss words and then just laugh. How does a person get over that? If you figure it out, tell me.
You hear people say cussing proves you're dumb, that it means you have a limited vocabulary. That sounds good and it simply is nottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt not true. I'm like George Carlin when it comes to cuss words. I love words. I feel sorry for those seven little words that suffer our unmerited wrath. The meaning of the F word is expressed on regular tv all the time in a hundred different ways, making out, making whoopie, doing the wild thing. They all mean the same thing. But they're the good words and F is the bad one. ???
I will never understand why the F word is considered a dirty word and words threatening to take a human life are perfectly okay for kids of all ages! Kill, murder, torture, maim.... and screwing by a shorter name spelled with an f is THE biggest dirty word of the seven? If not for sex, I wouldn't have been here to write this and you wouldn't be here to read it. But if someone had killed our parents, neither of us would be here. Who makes these arbitrary judgements and how did they get here to make them? Oh that's right. They did the wild thing. And a rose by any other name....
I know I'll get upset emails over this page, and none of you can fairly argue the point that if we traded in the seven dirty words: can't, try, worry, might, damn, hate, and them and then replaced them with this healthier set of seven healthy words: can, will, have faith, must, bless, respect, and us - our world would be seven times as healthy.
