I took the picture of this pink purple coneflower in my landlady's front yard. I got the colors to pop by taking the picture as the edge of the morning sun just started to peek over the horizon. Sneaky God, making colors more intense first thing in the morning just to get us outta bed earlier. Works though.

I was NOT going to get involved in the Dr. Phil Weight Loss Challenge. I went into a rant every time someone suggested it to me. I've spent my life gaining and losing weight! My mother and sister both died seven years after having some of the very first experimental intestinal bypass surgeries. But at least it gave them far greater health for seven years. I'm tired of it. I'm going to get the lapband surgery. Least that's what I told them. Why? Because it's far less invasive, far safer, and far less expensive than gastric bypass and just as effective.
Then I accidentally saw the first show. That same day I went to the local Wally world and bought my copy of Dr. Phil's "Ultimate Weight Solution." What did he say or do to shift me so fast? He said his program didn't involve willpower, instead it was about reprogramming our brains.
I'm into re-programming my brain. It's how I quit smoking cigarettes easier than anyone I know. It's how I got myself to taebo for two and a half years regular as clock work. It's a LOT easier and a LOT more effective than willpower.
Repetition is power. I need to repeat that. Repetition is power. Did you get that yet? Repetition is POWER. That's why they don't play brain reprogramming Burger King commercials just once, but rather over and over and over again. I can't stand letting Burger King reprogram me to be unhealthier every day while I take no part in reprogramming my brain to be healthier. So here I am, making my first Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge wallpaper. Dr. Phil says a lot of things that are valuable and quotable. He doesn't turn them into wallpapers, so what the heck, I will. I'm going to make at least a dozen Dr. Phil quotes wallpapers. Then I'll turn them into an Ultimate Weight Loss screen saver. They'll repeat on our desktops over and over and over again. Did I mention repetition is power?

The reason I turned these specific Dr. Phil words into a wallpaper: They're the first words in his book that made me cry. I had never put dignity and myself in the same thought before. Maybe you haven't ever put dignity and yourself into the same thought before either. Try it on. See if it touches you the same way it did me.

can never fully shrink to its original dimensions."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes, paraphrased
