God didn't have to
create water,

because God wrote
the laws of reality.
God created water anyway.
God's love feels like water.

Apologies to my agnostic and atheist friends. I know spiritual things get under your skin sometimes. Well at least they used to irritate me. But please, consider the thoughts and path of one who used to be one of you.

I didn't come to believe in a lovable God by reading the Bible. I got here through observing all the gifts our world is filled with. Gifts I spent most of my life taking for granted.

I'll never forget the day I fell in love with water. I'm so grateful to Colleen for taking this beautiful picture and letting me share it with you this way. I'd been looking for a good excuse to share this experience with you. Colleen is such a Godsend! I know because she always provides. beautiful desktop wallpaper, 640x480 and 800x600

One afternoon, I got into my swim suit, then kicked back in a chair in the living room and for fifteen minutes with my eyes closed, I imagined God made this beautiful romper room we call Earth exactly the way it is, only without water. No drinking water, no need. No water to bathe in, to swim in, to get all warm and sudsy to wash the dishes in. Never a tear, never a sparkle, not one ocean, river, lake, pond or puddle.

No juice. Dry berries? Melons? Tomatoes?

Hard to imagine, but I managed pretty well. Somehow the laws of reality were written so that it just wasn't necessary. I imagined it until I ached with missing the wells that could never run dry because they'd never existed. I imagined it with all my heart and mind and spirit.

Then I went out and took the coolest, newest, greatest swim of my life. I cannot even describe to you how miraculous water became to me that day. The magic of its forming, formless form is something you can't fully appreciate until you've imagined this world without it since time began.

Often my friends who are agnostic and/or atheist will ask me questions in an attempt to really understand. Many times I've been asked, but how do you know God loves you? What does God's love feel like? How do you know when you're feeling it?

These are but a few of my answers: Take a long cool drink of water when you're really thirsty. Take a shower when you're really dirty. Take a swim when it's hot enough to fry an egg in the shade. Enjoy washing dishes by hand and watering the plants and wiping away a tear of joy. That's what God's love feels like. Hear that surprised giggle and shriek when you're washing the car with your kids, and you spray them just for the fun of it? That's what it sounds like.

God wrote the laws of reality, and water wasn't required until God wrote it in. Water. What a gift. That's why I say God's love feels like water. It's just that sweet, that cool, that cleansing, that beautiful. beautiful desktop wallpaper, 640x480 and 800x600
