My Best Cure for Insomnia
The cure for insomnia takes a training period of two to three weeks.
For two to three weeks each time you start to drift off to sleep, just at that moment that the delicious drifting off begins, simply stroke your eyebrow gently with your ring finger. Do this each and every time you reach that sweet, dreamy "no turning back now" stage and no other time at all. This instills a pavlovian anchor in your brain so that in the future whenever you stroke your eyebrow gently with your ring finger you will immediately feel that sweet dreamy feeling and if you're in a comfortable spot can drift off quite easily.
I realize that sometimes insomnia is mostly just being too keyed up to get relaxed, and if you're too keyed up, it can even override the sleepy trigger. So, on such a night, do this first.... keep your supper very light and then about an hour before bedtime have a sandwich of turkey breast and lettuce with a large glass of low fat milk. All three contain tryptophane which causes drowsiness, and seperately you barely feel the effect, but taken together, they feel quite a lot like a five milligram valium without the prescription or the side effects. After the sandwich and milk, take a soak in a hot soapy tub, then go to bed and get into your sleep postion and trigger your anchor, (i.e. gently rub your ring finger over your eyebrow) and you'll drift off quite easily.
I was an insomniac for years. This works.
