blue  REFUSE to Suffer

You can do this. Really. :)
Pain is necessary.
Suffering is optional.

Hard as it may be at this moment to believe.... Please at least consider the perspective that negative emotions are some of God's best gifts. I believe they are incredible alarm clocks designed to wake us up to take corrective action. Nothing more and nothing less.

What do you do if.... the alarm clock next to your bed starts going off, and no matter what you do to shut it off or turn it down, it just keeps getting louder...and louder...and louder? If someone says "good morning" after the alarm clock has been going off for an hour, you'll snap at them. It's nothing personal, but Christ that alarm clock is driving you crazy. Pretty soon, you're throwing it against the wall, or stomping it.... right?

Negative emotions are like the alarm clocks beside our beds, except negative emotions continue to get louder until we hit the snooze button or turn them off. Then and only then can we can think clearly enough to figure out what they were meant to wake us up to...and utilize whatever negative emotion set the alarm off.

Now consider this. Last year in America alone, over 30,000 people committed suicide to shut off their depression, over 24,000 people committed murder to shut off their anger. That tells me way too many people don't have healthy instructions for utilizing their negative emotions.

Think about when you make your worst mistakes... and when you make the most mistakes. Isn't it almost always while you're in a negative emotional state? See? They're alarm clocks. They're designed to wake us up. They are not designed to be left on while thinking, speaking or taking action.
